Olga is committed to protecting all residents in our city and ensuring their safety is a top priority. To that end, Olga will finally address the rampant crime and unchecked drug use currently plaguing downtown. She will fully fund the Police Department and make it attractive to be a police officer in the city. By implementing initiatives that promote trust and cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve, Olga will foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all of Seattle to enjoy.
Olga will tackle the humanitarian crisis with the urgency it deserves by prioritizing affordable housing options, expanding mental health and addiction services, and providing job training and employment opportunities for those experiencing homelessness. She will ensure we have enough mental health clinicians and social workers to respond to non-violent calls. These measures will offer a path forward for those in need and help them regain stability in their lives – and it won’t simply leave them to live and die on our streets.
The local business community is the heart of Seattle, and Olga understands this firsthand. With over 20 years of experience leading Piroshky Piroshky, Olga knows the challenges and rewards of running a small business. She will restart the growth of small businesses by cutting red tape and getting rid of burdensome regulations, as well as incentivizing commercial property owners to work with small businesses. Olga recognizes the tenacity and perseverance required to keep businesses thriving and will work to prevent small businesses from closing their doors.
During times of budget shortages and business exodus, fiscal responsibility is paramount for Seattle. We must ensure a strong budget that supports safety, addresses the humanitarian crisis, maintains critical infrastructure, provides housing, supports education, meets environmental commitments, and establishes a robust emergency response fund. While raising taxes should never be the first course of action, Olga will prioritize auditing processes and eliminating unnecessary spending to ensure responsible fiscal management.
Olga is determined to reduce gun violence in Seattle through common-sense measures. She will work to implement universal background checks, invest in community-based violence intervention programs, and advocate for safe storage requirements for firearms – along with strict penalties for people who manufacture and sell ghost guns. Olga is dedicated to making Seattle a safe place to live, work, and play by promoting responsible gun ownership and addressing the root causes of gun violence.
Olga is dedicated to protecting workers' rights and ensuring they are given the respect they deserve. Seattle businesses should be responsible and accountable to their employees, fostering a strong, inclusive, and healthy work environment. By supporting workers with fair compensation and creating a supportive workplace, Olga will strengthen the downtown core and make Seattle the thriving city it has the economic potential to be.
Olga is committed to championing sustainable development practices in Seattle and taking meaningful local steps to address the global problem of climate change. She will prioritize the promotion of green infrastructure and advocate for renewable energy sources throughout the city. Olga recognizes the significance of safe, reliable, ADA accessible, and affordable public transportation as an effective alternative to driving. She will also work to protect our waterways and green spaces, maintaining and improving these vital resources for future generations.
Olga understands the pressing need for affordable housing in Seattle. She aims to ensure that housing is conveniently accessible for all residents. Olga will explore policies to densify downtown by utilizing over 20,000 currently vacant homes and expedite the construction of affordable housing units. She will collaborate with developers, community organizations, and city officials to streamline the approval process, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and make sure there’s enough housing to meet the needs of our growing city – while also maintaining our infrastructure to accommodate additional development. Olga's goal is to create diverse housing options where people of all income levels can find housing that meets their needs.
Olga's goal is to create an ecosystem that benefits both renters and landlords. She will establish a solid system for security deposit processes and incentivize on-time rent payments with early payment discounts instead of late fees. While protecting small landlords from burdensome bureaucracies, Olga aims to create a welcoming environment that encourages them to remain in Seattle and provide diverse housing options to renters – including deed-restricted affordable housing.
As an immigrant herself, Olga recognizes the vital contributions that immigrants make to Seattle's cultural and economic fabric. She is committed to protecting immigrant rights by advocating for inclusive policies, promoting language access, and supporting community engagement opportunities that embrace individual cultures and foster integration. Olga will tirelessly work to make Seattle a welcoming and supportive city for all residents, regardless of their immigration status.
Olga is a fierce advocate for diversity, inclusion, and equity. As a member of several organizations dedicated to marginalized groups, she brings firsthand experience and a deep understanding of the importance of these principles. Olga's policies will always be aligned with her values, ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion are considered in all matters.
As a single mother raising two children on top of being a business owner, Olga understands the importance of affordable, accessible, and comprehensive childcare solutions for Seattle's residents and workers. She will prioritize creating an environment where families can access quality and affordable childcare services with ease.
Olga believes that Seattle is one of the most artistically vibrant places in the country, and she is committed to protecting and expanding our rich artistic resources. She will focus on promoting arts in communities and allocate sufficient resources to support their growth – which benefits the entire economy. The emergence of arts fosters positive energy, promotes education, knowledge, and connection among residents.
